VOLUNTEER JOB DUTIES

It takes a lot of people to run a swim meet!  We need help from each family. Each family is asked to volunteer at 3 swim meets and at the Devon Crest Novice Meet for a total of 4 volunteer duties for the season. Each duty lasts for half of a meet; either the 1st or 2nd half. If you have problems or concerns with your volunteer assignment, please contact volunteer coordinator, Christy Hicks.

8 & Under Coordinator
Works with a partner to round up the 8 & under swimmers and have them in the staging area prior to their event. You will receive a psych sheet with the list of events and the names of all the swimmers who are swimming that event. If you are new to the swim team and have a swimmer in this age group, this is a good way to get to know the other swimmers in the same age group. It's also a good way to make sure your son/daughter is in the right place at the right time. It requires a lot of movement and makes the time fly. We will be happy to train you!

Official Finish Judge

If a swimmer is performing an illegal stroke or turn, the S&T Judge is responsible for disqualifying them from the race. This position requires formal training. Please let the Volunteer Coordinator know if you would be interested in being trained for this position, we are always in need of S&T Judges.

Runner
After the timers record swimmers' times on a sheet of paper and after the Finish Judge records the finish order of a heat, the Runner is responsible for quickly collecting all the slips of paper and running them to the Timer's Station. This requires someone who can move quickly and keep the pace of the meet on schedule.  We will be happy to train you.
